Whether it's a vacation or a few days away, you'll look forward to spending time at Bella Vista Lakehouse, a waterfront retreat overlooking the pristine waters of Lake-on-the-Mountain. This property accommodates a maximum of 8 persons age 10 and over, additional sleeping for 4 more persons age 9 and under (local by-law 4518-2019). Cleaning and linens are included. PLEASE READ BELOW FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS SPACE AND AMENITIES:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: For your safety we suggest that all guests bring their own blankets and pillows for their own protection. We have also implemented a $25.00 COVID-19 disinfecting fee. 

  • Accommodates a maximum of 8 persons age 10 and over, additional sleeping for 4 more persons age 9 and under (local by-law 4518-2019)
  • LINENS and CLEANING ARE INCLUDED, however before checkout, ALL guests are expected to do their dishes, remove all food, take out the garbage/recycling, move items back to original spots, and to leave the cottage tidy.
  • Sheets, towels, bath mats, kitchen linens, pillows and blankets are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
  • Toilet paper, paper towels, salt/pepper, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, garbage/recycling bags, and BBQ propane are supplied
  • TWO beach passes included for use during your stay
  • Guests are expected to bring their own personal supplies such as bath soap and shampoo.
  • Drinking Water: The water supply comes from the lake, therefore Ontario water regulations require that you either purchase drinking water or boil it before using it for drinking. The water is filtered and can be used for all other purposes

  • The contemporary furnishings, décor, and roominess will make you feel right at home and you’ll be amazed at the scenic view from the expansive windows. With 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a huge living and family room, it’s a fantastic location for family gatherings and get-togethers with friends, and it's a short drive to Picton and the Sandbanks beaches and hiking trails. Beach passes for two vehicles are included with your rental.


    From several rooms on the main level, you can access the water view balcony that spans the width of the house. What a great spot for grilling dinner and dining al fresco! For a closer view of the water, meander outside and experience the park-like setting. While you're at it, why not enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake? For a spectacular end to the day, gather around the campfire and watch the blazing sun setting over the glimmering waters. During the cooler weather, you also have the option to cozy up next to a wood-burning fireplace.


    Bella Vista Lakehouse is a two-minute walk from historic Lake-on-the-Mountain Inn where you can enjoy a wonderful meal or a glass of local wine on the breezy patio. Across the road from the Inn, you'll appreciate the spectacular view of the Bay of Quinte and Glenora Ferry - from either the patio of The Miller House Cafe-Brasserie or from the look-out point at the Lake-on-the-Mountain Provincial Park. During the winter months, enjoy nature while cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or hiking along the many country trails including the Sandbanks.


    While you're visiting the area, take advantage of the wonderful scenery, country roads, sand dunes and beaches, golf courses, fishing, festivals, and farm markets that Prince Edward County offers. Enjoy a day of tasting and discovery at local wineries and fine dining establishments. Visit the museums, theatre, art galleries, artisans, and antique shops that abound. And it's conveniently close to Toronto (2 hours), Ottawa (3 hours), and Montreal (4 hours) so visit as often as you like.

    Kitchen & Dining Area

    Fully equipped eat-in kitchen includes fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, kettle, 2 electric grillers, hand mixer and juicer. Pots & pans, utensils, dishes, & cutlery are also provided. Please note that the electric cook top and wall oven were replaced with a new stove in October 2016.

    Large table will seat up to ten; one highchair available.

    You can access the balcony via a patio door in the dining area.

    Bird watchers will also find a pair of binoculars and a bird book here.

    Living Room

    Living room is spacious and features floor-to-ceiling windows to showcase the water view plus there is access to the balcony. Large contemporary style sectional will seat a large group. Guests will enjoy cozying up to the fireplace in the cooler weather.

    Other Rooms

    Family room with two sofas, 60" Smart TV with satellite service & Blu-ray player plus a ping pong table; located on lower level with walk-out to back yard. Large patio doors provide another stunning view and guests will enjoy the comfort of a second fireplace.

    Waterfront

    188' of pristine waterfront in a park-like setting on Lake-on-the-Mountain. Rocky shoreline is suitable for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Picnic table and lounge chairs are provided for your enjoyment. Bring your own boats, PFD's, water toys, and water shoes. No motorboats are allowed on this small lake.
