Whether it's a vacation or a few days away, you'll look forward to spending time at Tanglewood, a nature-lovers paradise perched above the waters of Adolphus Reach on the Bay of Quinte. The spaciousness and unique mix of antique and contemporary decor will make you feel right at home, and you’ll be amazed at the scenic views from the many large windows. With two bedrooms on the lower level plus three bedrooms on the main level, three bathrooms, and two living areas, it’s a fantastic location for family gatherings and get-togethers with friends. Picton is a short drive away for supplies and restaurants and two passes are provided for access to the nearby Sandbanks beaches and hiking trails. And while you're here, why not take a tour of the local wineries, breweries, and cheese factories?
From the main level you can access several decks for both woodland and water views, and the lower level family suite also features a small balcony with equally amazing scenery. The decks off the main level provide a great spot for grilling dinner and dining alfresco! For a closer view of the water, meander down the wooded pathway to the shoreline. While you're at it, why not enjoy a refreshing dip in the bay? For a spectacular end to the day, gather around the fire-bowl at the shoreline for some marshmallow roasting and story-telling time. During the cooler weather, you can also cozy up next to the wood burning fireplace in the living room.
Tanglewood is a five-minute drive to historic Lake-on-the-Mountain Inn where you can enjoy a wonderful meal or a glass of local wine on the breezy patio at the Inn. Or perhaps you'd rather take in the spectacular birds-eye-view of the Bay of Quinte and Glenora Ferry - from either the patio of The Miller House Cafe-Brasserie or from the look-out point at the Lake-on-the-Mountain Provincial Park. Waupoos is another short drive away where you'll find a cidery, a couple of wineries, a pub, a museum, and several farm markets.
While you're visiting the area, take advantage of the wonderful scenery & country roads, sand dunes & beaches, golf courses & fishing, festivals & farm markets that Prince Edward County offers. Enjoy a day of tasting and discovery at local wineries and fine dining establishments. Visit the museums, theatre, art galleries, artisans, and antique shops that abound. And it's conveniently close to Toronto (2.5 hours), Ottawa (3 hours), and Montreal (4 hours) so visit as often as you like.
