A Year Round Destination
At Indian Point, Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada
|
|
A Coastal Experience - an ideal escape for those who love water, waves, shorelines, boats, birds and a quiet restful location
The Lake House sits on the Lake Ontario coastline on the southeastern shore of Prince Edward County in an area known as Indian Point (also called Pleasant Point). This point on the northern tip of Prince Edward Bay was the location of a Lake Ontario navigational light erected in 1866 for mariners. Freighters, sail boats and other pleasure craft as well as a variety of water fowl can be seen regularly
from this viewpoint.
The Lake House, which is located on two lush green acres of lawn and 325 feet of south facing waterfront, is furnished and outfitted to provide a truly high end coastal experience. The owners are currently redecorating the four bedroom house in the style of Nantucket, Cape Cod with a contemporary flair. Featuring a large open living, dining and kitchen space
with a vaulted ceiling, it is ideal for entertaining groups of people. The bright airy room has plenty of large windows and double doors that provide great views of the lake and the
walkout deck wraps around three sides and provides seating and fabulous scenery.

A screened gazebo off the deck seats six comfortably in antique wicker furniture and an original Boston Rocker and is a wonderful viewpoint to the lake and the on-property vineyard as well as being a great spot for viewing the sunset over the neighbouring farmer’s field. With Prince Edward County being Ontario's newest wine region, the owners of The Lake House are proud to have three
types of vines growing on the property.
The area surrounding the property is comprised of farmed fields, wooded areas, and there are a few neighbours within view. The quiet country road follows the shoreline and is ideal for walking or strolling. A short distance away is Prinyer's Cove where the local marina operates a basic general store in the summer; fine dining, wineries, a pub, and a marina are located about 10 minutes
away in Waupoos. Both Waupoos and Prinyer's Cove are popular safe harbours for boaters and Prinyer's Cove also offers a well protected public beach with a children’s play area.
