Whether it's a vacation or a few days away, you'll look forward to spending time at Bella Vista Lakehouse, a waterfront retreat overlooking the pristine waters of Lake-on-the-Mountain. This property accommodates a maximum of 8 persons age 10 and over, additional sleeping for 4 more persons age 9 and under (local by-law 4518-2019). Cleaning and linens are included. The contemporary furnishings, décor, and roominess will make you feel right at home and you’ll be amazed at the scenic view from the expansive windows. With 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a huge living and family room, it’s a fantastic location for family gatherings and get-togethers with friends, and it's a short drive to Picton and the Sandbanks beaches and hiking trails. Beach passes for two vehicles are included with your rental.
From several rooms on the main level, you can access the water view balcony that spans the width of the house. What a great spot for grilling dinner and dining al fresco! For a closer view of the water, meander outside and experience the park-like setting. While you're at it, why not enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake? For a spectacular end to the day, gather around the campfire and watch the blazing sun setting over the glimmering waters. During the cooler weather, you also have the option to cozy up next to a wood-burning fireplace.
Bella Vista Lakehouse is a two-minute walk from historic Lake-on-the-Mountain Inn where you can enjoy a wonderful meal or a glass of local wine on the breezy patio. Across the road from the Inn, you'll appreciate the spectacular view of the Bay of Quinte and Glenora Ferry - from either the patio of The Miller House Cafe-Brasserie or from the look-out point at the Lake-on-the-Mountain Provincial Park. During the winter months, enjoy nature while cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or hiking along the many country trails including the Sandbanks.
While you're visiting the area, take advantage of the wonderful scenery, country roads, sand dunes and beaches, golf courses, fishing, festivals, and farm markets that Prince Edward County offers. Enjoy a day of tasting and discovery at local wineries and fine dining establishments. Visit the museums, theatre, art galleries, artisans, and antique shops that abound. And it's conveniently close to Toronto (2 hours), Ottawa (3 hours), and Montreal (4 hours) so visit as often as you like.
