The Wexford House

The Wexford House c. 1883, a stately two storey brick home, is located in the heart of Prince Edward County where it dominates the heritage streetscape of Picton. Located halfway between Toronto and Ottawa, it's a wonderful spot for family get-togethers & vacations, meetings & retreats away from the office, weddings & special events,  or a home base for your County adventure. The Wexford House is no more than 20 minutes from all popular destinations in 'The County' including the Sandbanks Provincial Park.

On either side of the grand front foyer are formal living and dining rooms with plenty of interesting architectural details, and during the cooler weather guests will enjoy the warmth of the living room fireplace. The first floor also offers a family/media room, a south facing sun-room with electric fireplace, a newly renovated kitchen with adjoining breakfast room for less formal dining, and a two piece bathroom. The second level consists of four spacious bedrooms, three additional bathrooms, and a laundry area. The roomy master bedroom features a king size bed and a three piece ensuite bathroom, and there are two additional bathrooms for the other guests.

Dine al fresco on the circular patio located adjacent to the expansive back yard. Grill to your heart's content with the seven burner propane barbeque. When you feel like relaxing in the shade, choose from two verandas with comfy outdoor furniture - great spots for sipping your morning coffee or catching up with a good book. Downtown Picton is only a short stroll away where you'll enjoy the many cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries, and theatre.

While you're here, be sure to check out the many attractions of Prince Edward County including the wineries and vineyards, and the famous Sandbanks Provincial Park & Beach. If you're looking for other adventure, spend the day at one of the local spas, shop and browse in the boutiques, artisan and antique shops, dine out at a fine restaurant or pub, play a round of golf, tour the County on bicycle, try your luck at fishing, or check out the local farm markets.

Linens, Supplies & Cleaning
  • Sheets, towels, bath mats, kitchen linens, pillows, & blankets are provided. Please bring your own beach towels
  • Toilet paper, paper towels, salt & pepper, coffee filters, liquid hand soap, dish soap & dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, and BBQ propane are supplied
  • Drinking Water – The water supply is municipally treated so it should be safe for drinking
  • Cleaning service is included in the rental rate therefore guests are not required to clean at check-out; however guests are expected to do their dishes, take out the garbage, strip the beds, and to leave the house tidy 
  • Maximum 13 persons - no more than 8 adults. Families, couples & girlfriends preferred
  • Pets not allowed
  • No smoking inside

  • High Season (Jul & Aug): WEEKLY rentals only with Friday changeover
